ECHO LADIES BEDROOM

There’s a futuristic feel to Swedish three piece Echo Ladies’ new single ‘Bedroom’. Opening up with a ticking, motorik drum beat, unmistakably shoegazey washed-out guitars glide gracefully on top of synthesizers that sound like they’ve been pulled straight from the Stranger Things soundtrack. Written about “the need to be left alone,” the Malmö trio manage to make a song about isolation into an uplifting listening experience as singer Matilda Bogren swoons 'I will be waiting in my bedroom until the scary part is over...'. The accompanying video hones in on the track's creeping sense of fear, featuring unexplained nosebleeds, late night car journeys through the Swedish countryside and a lurking pair of claws. The band are currently embarking on their first UK tour, in support of their debut LP Pink Noise, which comes out via Sonic Cathedral next month. You can catch them at The Social in London tomorrow night. -Holly Mullineaux
